Weekend Yoga and Meditation Retreat is a perfect opportunity to take a break, escape the daily routine and refresh your body and mind by practicing various asana, pranayama, and meditation techniques. It is suitable for all levels – yoga beginners and also experienced practitioners. For 3 days, you will learn different techniques of Sun Salutations, get insight into yoga philosophy and experience all the benefits of meditation. Each day you will start with chanting mantras, breathing exercises and traditional hatha yoga class. During the day you will have enough time to explore and enjoy the Rishikesh lifestyle, deepen your asana practice in the afternoon yoga class, and end the day with meditation. After this weekend, you will have a better understanding of yoga and feel a deeper connection with your higher self.

Weekend Yoga & Meditation Retreat Rishikesh India : Aim, Objective and Requirements
In Yoga & Meditation Retreat, you will start each day with chanting mantras, breathing exercises and traditional hatha yoga class. During the day you will have enough time to explore and enjoy the Rishikesh lifestyle, deepen your asana practice in the afternoon yoga class, and end the day with meditation. After this retreat, you will have better understanding of yoga and feel a deeper connection with your higher self.
All classes are taught by Dr. Jitendra Das and his assistant yoga teachers

The whole YTTC course is in English. At least medium level of understanding is required.
Weekend Yoga & Meditation Retreat Rishikesh India : Course Schedule
The requirements of Weekend Yoga & Meditation Retreat Rishikesh India program follows a tight schedule where almost each of the 5 to 6 training hours in the day are assigned to some aspect of yoga. You could find the training intensive but enlightening. Depending on the yoga school the mornings can begin as early as 6:00 a.m. with meditation followed by some yoga postures and maybe some classes or lectures in philosophy or anatomy.

Weekend Yoga & Meditation Retreat Rishikesh India : Course Syllabus
Asana: learn about basic asanas (postures) including their different levels and variations, from beginner to intermediate level.
Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation): learn the 12 positions of sun salutations, their variations, points of concentration, breathing and mantras.
Pranayama: learn main types of Pranayama ‘breathing’ techniques – Anuloma-Viloma, Nadishodhana, Ujjai, Bhramari, Shitali, Sitkari, Bhastrika and Kapalbhati.
Bandha: learn the practice of 3 bandhas – energy locks in the body – Mula bandha, Jalandhara bandha, Uddiyana bandha and Maha bandha.
Kriya: learn and practice Shatkriya “six body cleansing methods”: Dhauti, Basti, Neti, Nauli, Tratak and Kapalbhati.
Meditation : Learn and practice major meditation techniques.
Mantra: Learn to chant and present main vedic mantras.
Yoga Philosophy : We will explain and discuss the history and philosophy of yoga.
Weekend Yoga & Meditation Retreat Rishikesh India : Code of Conduct
- Discipline is an integral part of the training program and so the course routine must be strictly observed.
- Restricted dress code is white yoga trouser, T-shirt and socks, jacket, jumper and shawl.
- A student must intimate in advance if they intend to forgo a meal so that there is no wastage of food.
- The Yoga Foundation does not make arrangements for guests of students. Any activity that is not related to the course is not permitted.
- Ensure you are on time for class or you will not be permitted to enter any class once it has commenced.
- Before departure from the Yoga Foundation students must all dues and return all library books.
- Smoking, alcohol, Paan masala or any kind in any form drugs are not permitted during the training.

*We provide five – seven dishes in one meal with proper nutrition and fresh cooked. Our foods are suitable for both western and eastern students. We have different menu for each day.

- Please mind, that deposit submitted with the application “online” is non – refundable or transferable under any circumstances.
- Only in special case of emergency, PIYF allows students to transfer for other scheduled course within the period of one year.
- Notification must be made at least 1 month prior the beginning of the course.

Weekend Yoga & Meditation Retreat takes place at Patanjali International Yoga Foundation, in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand, India, situated on the bank of the holy Ganga River, on the foothills of the Himalayas. Rishikesh is a very relaxed and spiritual place, enabling you to get into the very peaceful atmosphere. It is believed, that meditation in Rishikesh brings people closer to the attainment of moksha, as does a dip in the holy river that flows through it.

Weekend Yoga & Meditation Retreat Rishikesh India : Accommodation and Yoga Ashram
At Patanjali International Yoga Foundation (PIYF), Rishikesh, we provide accommodation and other facilities to our yoga students to make their stay comfortable and healthy.
- Single / shared accommodation with attached bathroom and hot water.
- Please keep in mind, that this is a yoga ashram and not a hotel, so we provide all ashram facilities.
- Upon your arrival, we provide soap and toilet paper, the rest of the time you need to buy it.
- For your personal safety and security, please bring a padlock for your room.
- We provide clean bed sheets and towel once a week.
- We provide shared kettle, iron and hair dryer on the each floor.
- We provide a blanket, but during the winter we recommend you to bring a sleeping bag.
